Brad and Chris Grime, brothers and business partners, opened up Auto Images in December of 1986.
After serving in the Marine Corps, Brad started working at Liechty Motors, a local Chrysler Dealership in Archbold, Ohio, for 12 years as a body repair technician. During those 12 years, Brad learned and perfected his trade and absorbed everything he could about the collision repair industry.
After building up a pretty strong reputation for doing excellent body repair, Brad decided it was time to start his own business. With a wife, four young children, and little or no money, Brad had decided that he should explore the possibility of a business partner.
Brad asked his younger brother Chris, who had just recently served in the Army at the time and was working as a journeyman, machine-press setup man, at a local plant, if he was interested in going in to business with him.
Recently married, Chris figured he had nothing to lose and was excited about the prospect of being in business. Brad and Chris grew up around body repair business, and Chris already had all of the mechanical skills needed to get started.
They were able to convince their local bank, Farmers & Merchants State Bank, to lend them startup capital to purchase a piece of property in Archbold, Ohio. Together with a local contractor they built and started their first shop, a small 4-bay facility.
The brothers were busy from the start, and after a few years, they decided to add on a mechanic repair shop as they had soon learned that there was a lot of mechanic repair involved with doing collision work.
Business in both the body and mechanic repair shops soon took off, and in a short time, they had actually outgrown both shops and were looking to expand.
In need of more space and landlocked, they decided to build another new facility and combine both the body and mechanic repair shops under one roof in a state-of-the-art 15,000-square-foot facility.
With an excellent location along busy ST RT 66, just down the road from their old location, the business has grown and excelled beyond their expectations.
The brothers are approaching the 35th year together serving their community and Northwest Ohio with what they believe is the very best this area has to offer in both collision and mechanic repair for the automotive industry.
